About Us

Who Are The Knights of Columbus?

We are a fraternal organization that provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.

Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney (Now Blessed) on March 29, 1882 at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, its purpose was to act as a mutual aid society and to provide financial assistance to widows and orphans. The Knights of Columbus founding principles are Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. These principles guide our mission as we interact with the Church and community at large.

In Service to One, In Service to All

Faith
We come from many backgrounds, places and stages in our lives but share one faith

This is the bedrock of why we are here. It also is the cornerstone of all of our actions. We are Robert D Meyers Council 1550 – Chehalis.

Our Vision
We want to improve the lives of people by fostering community, showing religious values, performing charitable acts and having devotion to country
Our Council Heads

Our numbers that speak

Since our Council’s founding in 1911, we have raised money, helped those in need, donated our time and talents to our Church and community. Our numbers push us to give our best and make sure that we continue to do better. We are happy to be growing and helping more day by day and look forward to having our council grow.
